Howdy

Gosh guys. These emails are getting worse and worse and I'm sorry.
Life is good. Sister Orme is still a brat :) Miguelina got baptized, and I hit my hump-day.

MIGUELINA got baptized!!! Guys. The happiest day of my mission maybe.
She just bawled after. She told me that she doesn't think it would have happened if I hadn't been here, so that's pretty awesome. She is getting confirmed on Sunday. I love her. She promised me she would get her endowments out in Utah so I could be there.

We've had some rough days, but it's fine. Last Friday we seriously watched a less active run away from us... But it's fine. I just laughed.

Monday the senior sisters left! :( they will be home soon... They are driving home. I love them SO much!

9 months left.

Love you all!!

More Snow

We were grounded all day Thursday, part of Friday and Saturday night.

Thursday we walked to the church and about froze to death. So, that was fun.

Friday we went and shoveled. It was valentines day so sister Orme and I wanted to go to dinner (the sisters conference got canceled...
Again) we invited the district and then Cheeseburger Paradise was closed! So we had valentines dinner at Taco Bell. So romantic. I forgot my wallet so sister Orme even bought my dinner. Isn't that just the sweetest?

Heyo!!!

Wow guys. I am pretty much halfway done. And today I feel like death and I can't remember what happened.. Seriously. I think we got juked about 100 times. It's okay though, because you receive no witness until AFTER the trial of your faith. And I have good news for everyone.

MIGUELINA IS GETTING BAPTIZED!!!!!!!! February 23. After 3 years of investigating and waiting for things in her life to work out. She finally found the courage and strength to do the things she needed to do. She got a blessing from the elders in December and they blessed her with that courage. In my mind I was ready to give up... We have worked diligently for almost 5 months and I was out of ideas... But elder holland said it best "some blessings come soon, some come late, and some don't come till Heaven, but for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, they come." She is so excited and we are meeting with her everyday to make sure she is ready. This is probably the best news of my mission. I am 99% sure I'll be transferred in 5 weeks because my job here is done ;)

Other news... The senior sisters are leaving soon. :( I am going to be SO sad. I remember when I got here and I said to myself "man, I sure hope I leave Middletown before they do..." And here I am! I told them to let me know when their farewell is so you all can go and tell them thanks for taking care of me :)

Oh here's a fun story for you. So Friday night we got asked by a member to come over Saturday afternoon. Usually all of the missionaries go and we do service... So when she just asked sister Orme and I to go I figured she needed to talk about something. So we show up in out skirts and we're kind of nervous because you never know what they are going to say.... And she asks us to shovel off her deck.
And we are in skirts. And it's freezing. And the snow weighs about
1000 pounds because the top layer was frozen rain and there's at least
6 inches of other snow under that.

This last week we have been visiting Marjorie. She is amazing :) we took her to a visit with us and I think she liked it! We also help her set up her lds account so she can start doing family history, which she is pretty excited about. :)

Still in Middletown!

Well, not a lot new this week. LOTS of snow! Transfers got cancelled today, they'll happen tomorrow. We have been grounded twice this week and it is supposed to snow again on Sunday!

Elder Barnard is dead. He went home today! It's SO sad to see missionaries leave! Oh! I'm still in Middletown. I'm pretty sure I could spend the next 9 months here and be happy. Sister Orme and I are still companions. She's like my bratty younger sister and i love her!

Sunday was a good day! Poppie and Martin both came to church and they really loved it. They were only able to stay for sacrament, but that's alright :)

One day last week we went and helped a ward member do some cleaning.
She has arthritis so things like mopping are hard for her. It felt good to do something so normal :) I think that was Thursday... The days are all blending together at this point.

Remember Rich? The paralyzed guy we tracted into?? Well, he kept his promise! He called and at first I thought he said "I read, and I think it's for me!" But he actually said he doesn't think it's for him. I hate to break it to him, but a mission wasn't really for me either! He said we were welcome to come and visit with him any time so we'll hopefully make it there soon.

We met with Marjorie! I seriously love her. If she's one of the only people I help on my mission, I am happy. She has been reading the Book of Mormon and asking AWESOME questions. She also said she was willing to come out and visit people with us. I just love her. :)

I can't think of anything else. We finally took down our Christmas tree! And we vacuumed our apartment. Um.. I think that's about it!

Love you all!!
