What a freakin week! About six months or so ago, our area had a media referral for a man named Martin. Media referrals are generally non members, so we just assumed he was an investigator. The missionaries tried to meet with him about 100 times and he never came to their appointments, so they named him Martin the Juker. Anyway, one sunday a few weeks ago he just showed up to church! We were super surprised. So we tried to meet with him a bunch of times and he would always say he was sick or something came up, so we never got to meet with him. Last week we FINALLY met with Martin!! We were really excited because he was going to be an investigator and we were finally going to learn about him! Sister White was sick so she stayed home and Hermana Dalley went with me. We were going over some How To Begin Teaching Points with him and he mentioned something about being baptized... so toward the end of our lesson I asked him what churches he'd been baptized in and HE'S A MEMBER!! So Martin the Juker is now Martin the Member.
On Monday we were at Family Home Evening at the Sr couple's house. I was holding the phone and it accidentally called Drita, who was the Albanian that we tracted into. We haven't talked to her since her and her husband said that they wouldn't convert from Catholicism for anything. Anyway, the phone accidentally called her AGAIN on the way home, so she called us back. Turns out she has been reading the book of Mormon and she LOVES IT! WOW! can you believe it? Hopefully we can meet with her soon. She really is amazing.
We've made friends with a lady in our building from Guyana. She's SO sweet! she's hindu, but I told her that her cooking always smells delicious so she offered to make us dinner. I think that's a pretty solid win haha. She told us that she knows what it's like to be away from your mom because her kids served missions also.
Transfers are 2 weeks from today! Can you believe it's august already? I can't. I think the super hot weather is over for the most part... hallelujah. I'm still not sure what's going to happen with me this transfer. I do know that our whole zone is going to get mixed up though! We've had 2 elders go home in the last week or so, so their companions are floating around!
Well.. I don't think I have anything left to say. I love you all!!
